The VMA’s are undoubtedly the most anticipated awards show ever since the Taylor-Kanye feud #neverforget. To our disappointment, there was surprisingly calmer and drama-free night this year (as far as we’ve been filled in). But as expected one thing that hasn’t changed is the glamour and style of the stars. Here’s 3 of our fave beauty looks and how you can recreate them with our trusty natural beauty picks!
Long gone are Demi’s Disney gal days with this gorge sultry, smokey look and revealing outfit. Can we just say we are SO jel of her effortless long and luscious locks! To get that smokey eye we’d use Lily Lolo’s Pedal to the Metal Eyeshadow Palette which has a beautiful range of dark metallic shades and to give the look that extra oomph we’d use Battington Silk lashes in Kennedy (because why not go all out eh?).
Despite having the flu and not being able to sing, Lorde still killed it at the VMAs with her slightly odd but endearing Kate Bush-esque dance which defo boosted everyone’s moods after Katy Perry’s failing stand-up jokes. We also must mention how STUNNING she looked on the red carpet with her beautiful fluffy and feathered lilac number paired with her simple yet flawless makeup. We’d recreate Lorde’s sculpted cheekbones by contouring with W3ll People’s Natural Highlight and Contour Duo and for the nude lip we’d opt for Ilia Beauty’s Lipstick Crayon in ‘Come undone’.
3. Vanessa Hudgens
Another Disney OG, Vanessa Hudgens, swept us away with her all red look and big, voluminous hair, perfectly replicating the red flamenco dancer emoji. Her makeup continued the rouge vibe with her eyeshadow adding that pop of colour both on the lid and under her waterline to give that subtle smokey look. We’d double up Lily Lolo’s Pressed Blush in ‘Burst your bubble’ as an eyeshadow and blush, genius. To get that dewy glow we’d use Juice Beauty’s Phyto-Pigment Flawless Serum Foundation to even out skin tone and add that extra bit of radiance.
