Sugar, Papaya and Lemon Leg Scrub

Sun’s out, pin’s out amirght? We’ve been totally spoilt in London this summer with temperatures reaching the dizzying heights of 30 degrees and pure sunshine all round. Hotness like this means our floaty, sun dresses are out in full force, along with bare legs. Keeping pins consistently exfoliated and smooth can become a bit of a chore, so we came up with this exfoliating scrub to provide a scrub deep enough to last all week. The sugar is great to intensely slough dead skin cells as well as unclogging pores which in turn helps with any pesky ingrown hairs.  The papaya and lemon are both fantastic non-abrasive exfoliators so will work alongside the sugar to ensure skin is super smooth. Finally, the vitamin C and citric acid from the lemon to rejuvenate skin cells and refreshes tired legs. Make up in bulk and store in the fridge for up to a week or make a batch at a time for onetime use.

Ingredients:

  • 8 tablespoon of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of mashed papaya
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • A dash of olive oil

How to:

Stir the sugar, lemon and oil into a paste. Add the mashed papaya and gently crush it into the mix. Rub the mixture into dry skin. Rinse well.

Tip:

– Replace the papaya with bananas.
– Can be used as a foot scrub too!

SHELF LIFE: one time use
