NYFW Fall 2017 - Three Beauty Looks You Can Achieve Naturally

New York Fashion Week Fall 2017 wrapped up at the end of the week and the runway was ary with fresh and modern beauty looks.  We’ve rounded up three of our fave beauty looks that are totally achievable the green way and promise to give your makeup game an instant babe-over.

Oscar de la Renta

Lids popped with sweeping lines of rainbow pastels for a fun and playful standout look at Oscar de la Renta’s NYFW 17 show.. Light on face makeup and bare lips meant that the brightly coloured shadows were the focal point for beauty at the show. We particularly loved the pastel purple and bright pink look, which is so easy to recreate naturally. A sweeping of Lily Lolo Mineral Eyeshadow in Deep Purple will achieve that soft, wispy purple shade over the entire lid. To nail the bright pink eyeliner, I’d recommend RMS Beauty’s Lip Shine in Sublime – sounds weird using lipgloss but the thick, shiny consistency will allow you to achieve the slick line along the upper lashes by simply applying with a cotton bud. Their lip gloss is on point so investing in a little pot is so worth it – it’ll last you ages and can be used on lips, cheeks and lids (plus is made out of coconut oil so while actually nourish whilst looking banging).

Anna Sui

When Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid take their runway look out partying on the streets of NY, you know it’ll be a trend worth taking note of. Models at Anna Sui’s NYFW 17 show sported playful and relaxed tresses that we instantly fell in love with. So easy to create yourself, hair was thrown into double top-knots but this 90s, Spice Girl vibe was given a modern edge by the style being half-up half-down. I decided to give it a shot on a Friday night out and, although I felt a little like I was wearing a Minnie Mouse headband, overall it looked pretty cool, adding instant edge to any outfit. I created my look using Rahua’s Defining Hairspray  which holds hair in place without it looking too stiff or over-styled. Rahua are a great natural haircare brand and my go-to for shampoo and conditioner. Their products contain an Amazonian oil that literally transforms locks overnight. To style the look,  I simply used kirby grips to keep the two buns in place (although I have significantly less hair than the likes of Gigi so if you have thicker hair you may way to secure with hair ties). Just call me Elsie Hadid.

Alexander Wang

This one is mega easy to achieve but still a really striking look. Alexander Wang’s models were simple and understated with the standout feature being heavy black kohl eyeliner. I loved the nostalgic feel of the heavy kohl, it reminds me of being a teenager and not leaving the house without inch thick kohl eyeliner that I was convinced  made me look well mysterious. The best picks of natural eyeliner with the staying power needed for this look are both Ere Perez Just Jojoba Oil Eye Pencil (from Content Beauty) for its slick, gloss black finish, or Vapour’s Mesmerize Eyeliner in Ink as it comes complete with smudger. Apply along the waterline and close to lashes on both lids then blend slightly to create a smoky edge.
