With the freezing cold coming any minute now, it’s no surprise that concerns of dry, irritated and stressed skin is cropping up on everyone’s beauty hit-list. You might be tempted to make a frantic dash to bulk-buy every moisturisers and creams out there – trust me, we’ve been there too – but we say, everything you need for your winter worries is right there in your kitchen!
Avocado, oats and honey are all amazing at calming sensitive, easily-irritated skin, while hydrating and nourishing it. Honey is also a natural humectant, meaning it helps skin lock in moisture without making it more oily. “It can even speed up the healing of scars and encourage tissue regeneration,” says cbco’s Dominika.

- 1/2 avocado, mashed
- 1 tbsp honey
- A handful of oats or oat bran
How to make
1. Throw all your ingredients into a bowl.
2. Mix well until a smooth paste.
3. Apply on clean skin, and leave on for 15 minutes before washing off.
