DIY Grapefruit Resurfacing Mask

Contrary to popular belief, natural acids are a great ingredient for resurfacing, brightening and evening out skin tone gently. There are some great kitchen cupboard essentials that contain high quantities of acids and won’t break the bank!

Grapefruit is high in vitamin C, fibre and lycopene and will exfoliate, detox and brighten your skin. The fruit is high in antioxidants, which fight the free radicals that cause wrinkles, dull complexion and discolouration. Only red and pink grapefruits contain lycopene, which is the source of the potent antioxidants.

Yogurt is high in lactic acid, which gently sweeps away crusty dead skin cells, but also contains high quantities of probiotics fight skin blemishes and promotes protein and collagen production in the skin.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp organic yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp grapefruit juice

How to:

Blend the two ingredients together, and apply for 10-15 mins. Wash off normally.

Tip:

Allergic to grapefruit, or prefer another fruit? Try strawberries – they’re also high in antioxidants and are fantastic for spot-prone skin. For those who are a little more sensitive, kiwis are a great alternative.
