Best Beauty Looks at the Golden Globes 2018

The 2018 Golden Globes is one that will inevitably be immortalised in history. The prestigious awards’ ceremony saw the likes of Oprah making the best speech ever, Natalie Portman taking a swipe at the Best Director nominees, and basically everyone walking the carpet in all black. Their unanimous choice of outfit was a clear nod towards the Time’s Up campaign, created to challenge and fight against gender inequality in the workplace following the numerous sexual harassment allegations that rocked Hollywood last year.

With stylists taking a step back, it’s all down to the hair and makeup artists to make the statement this year. Here, see CBCO’s edit of the three best looks from the 2018 Golden Globes – and how to recreate them.

Meryl Streep Golden Globes 2018 looka

The Natural

Meryl Streep looked absolutely gorgeous in this blush-focused look. With cleanly lined eyes and a rose pink on her lips and cheeks, this get-up brought out the 20-time-nominee’s youthful glow. Dust on a little Ere Perez Pure Rice Powder blush in Rose and apply a little Juice Beauty Phyto-Pigments lipstick in Blush.

Emma Stone Golden Globes 2018 look

The Historical

We fell in love with Emma Stone’s look immediately – her smoky eyeshadow brought out her gorgeous green eyes, while her deep ruby lipstick provided the perfect wintery touch. What’s even better is that her look was entirely inspired by the suffragettes: purple and green were staples in their uniform, as these colours stood for freedom and hope.

Get the look by first applying a silvery eyeshadow (RMS’ Twilight Madness is perfect for this) all over your eyelid, before blending in black and dark green to create the smoky eye. Add a touch of Lily Lolo’s pink blush on the cheeks, and top it all off with a slick of ILIA lipstick in Ink Pot.

Gal Gadot Golden Globes 2018 look

The #Boss

This classic look will never get old – at least not for us! Gal Gadot went full glam with a heavy focus on maximising her gorgeous lashes and a bold plum lipstick, keeping the rest of the face natural to direct attention to all the right places. We’d recreate this look with a swipe of Absolution’s organic lipstick in Rouge Bordeaux and a few layers of Elsie’s favourite mascara of all time: the Kjaer Weis mascara.
